Premier League rivals Manchester United are reportedly interested in trying to sign Chelsea player Mason Mount.

According to The Sun, Man United boss Erik ten Hag is monitoring the 23-year-old’s contract situation at Stamford Bridge.

It is explained the England star’s contract talks stalled during the takeover process, so his long-term future with the Blues is not secure despite it expiring in 2024.

The report states United have already made contact with Mount’s camp to register interest, while Liverpool and Manchester City have also made “discreet enquiries”. Barcelona have set their sights on Chelsea’s attacking midfielder, too.

Manchester United interested in Mount

Ten Hag would surely love to bring players to Old Trafford with the same amount of quality as Mount.

Chelsea’s playmaker has just wrapped up an impressive individual season, scoring 13 goals and making 16 assists in 53 games across all competitions for his club.

He’s good enough to play for any team in the world, which is why it’s a slight concern hearing widespread interest in him amid contract uncertainty.

However, Mount’s an academy graduate straight out of Cobham that bleeds blue.

Chelsea must act fast

Hopefully, the Blues come to their senses and get Mount nailed down to a new improved contract immediately.

It’s been reported this month the attacker wants to pen a new deal with his boyhood club Chelsea, which could more than double his current £80,000-a-week salary.

Described as “phenomenal” by Chelsea teammate Antonio Rudiger, he’s an absolutely vital player in the squad that must be kept.

Thomas Tuchel’s got a few go-to players he relies on in the squad and Mount is definitely in that category.
