Report: PL manager a big fan of 'outstanding' Chelsea prospect, could make move to sign him this summer

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly a big fan of Chelsea prospect Armando Broja, who’s having an excellent season out on loan with Southampton.

According to Football.London, Premier League side Arsenal are monitoring Broja ahead of the summer transfer window in their bid to sign a new centre-froward.

The report explains Arteta’s impressed by the 20-year-old striker’s performances this season at Southampton.

Chelsea loanee Broja is beginning to build quite the reputation for himself, largely down to the way the youngster plays without fear and bullies experienced defenders.

He’s scored eight goals in 24 games so far this season for the Saints. However, some of his overall play with his pace and physicality has been even more impressive than just statistics.

Joe Cole previously called Broja “outstanding” earlier in the season due to his impact at St Mary’s, too.

Chelsea should lock the door

No, not a chance.

There is no way Chelsea can let Broja leave Stamford Bridge next season, especially to a bitter rival like Arsenal.

The bullish forward has everything needed to be a success in the Premier League, so it’s frightening to think of the player he can become with more experience under his belt.

It would be such a shame if the Blues end up letting another supreme talent slip through their fingers.

He’s a product of the Chelsea academy at Cobham, and should be in line to link up with the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah in the first-team squad next season.

It may all boil down to the opinion of manager Thomas Tuchel, who’s got Romelu Lukaku as his number nine and main frontman this campaign.
