Reports from Spain have claimed that Vitor Roque’s father has flown to London in order to talk to Chelsea over a potential deal to sign him.

According to MundoDeportivo, the player’s favoured choice of destination would be Barcelona, however the La Liga side simply cannot compete with the Blues and Arsenal who are also interested in a deal.

It has been previously claimed that the club have been watching Roque for a while now, as they look to continue their spending and investment in players who can elevate Chelsea in the future.

The 18-year-old has put himself on the radar of elite clubs after his performances for Athletico Paranaense, as well as the youth teams in Brazil.

He has been tipped to become one of the greats recently by former Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

It is the international stage where he recently starred, winning the U20 South American championship alongside current Chelsea man Andrey Santos.

Roque’s father in London

The midfielder is currently back on loan in his home country after the Blues were unable to secure a visa for him to play in England for the rest of the season.

However, a call-up and first appearance for the Brazilian national team will more than do enough to allow him to feature from next season.

It seems though that they may not be done in the market for young stars from Brazil. It has been claimed that Roque’s father is in London to get discussions with Chelsea underway.

Young players have been high on the agenda for the new ownership since they took over, with it stemming back to last summer’s window.

Todd Boehly spent big to secure talents for the future, with some taking steps this season towards more first team football.

Gabriel Slonina, now a full USA international as of this year, has established himself as the number one for the U21 side, and is surely close to promotion to the first team.
