Chelsea are reportedly ready to make their move to try sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
According to 90min, Blues co-owner and interim sporting director Todd Boehly is primed to launch a bid for the 21-year-old Premier League star.
The report explains Leicester may be open to selling some players this summer for financial reasons, but the talented centre-back’s on a contract at the King Power Stadium that doesn’t expire until 2027.
Fofana, who cost the Foxes £30million a couple of years ago, is a superb young centre-half.
He’s been linked to Chelsea in the last year at a time when Marina Granovskaia was in charge of transfer dealings as Blues director, but it seems replacement Boehly is equally as keen.

Chelsea move to sign Fofana
Described as “amazing” by Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, Fofana made a strong return last season from a long-term injury.
He’s a talented young centre-back comfortable in either a back four or back three, so that should be a massive tick against his name for Chelsea. Incidentally, Frank Lebouef has recently urged the Blues to try sign the Leicester star.
There’s no doubt he’s got an extremely high ceiling when it comes to his potential because he possesses so many great traits as a defender. For example, he’s got tremendous pace and physicality to go along with leadership and composure.

100 per cent great target
If Chelsea can pull off a deal for Fofana, it would be more incredible business this summer to go with the completed signings of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.
It’s unclear from reports how much the Leicester star would actually cost to prize away, though.
This is the kind of transfer that should excite the Stamford Bridge faithful.
