Jude Bellingham is reportedly a prime personal target of Todd Boehly as part of his continuing Chelsea rebuild.

According to ESPN, Boehly and Clearlake Capital view the Borussia Dortmund gem as the ‘ideal candidate’ to improve Graham Potter’s midfield.

Although Potter’s on-pitch midriff can pack a punch, several are coming to the end of their teether.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante’s futures continue to be discussed, whilst Juventus loanee Denis Zakaria might not be around at Cobham next year.

Take away this trio of players, and the Blues are extremely short in a vitally important area of the field.

Hence why Boehly is seemingly set upon capturing Bellingham and potentially crafting the squad around the England international.

Jude Bellingham is the real deal

The 19-year-old might be youthful in age, but his footballing abilities go way beyond any birth certificate.

He is already a bonified superstar, having dazzled in a Dortmund shirt since leaving Birmingham City in 2020.

At the time, £25m (Sky Sports) seemed a bit steep for the teenager who had only just signed a professional deal with his boyhood club.

Fast forward a few seasons and BVB arguably sealed the deal of the century.

Bellingham’s value is now reportedly a staggering £135m, making him one of the most valuable players of all time.

A high price to pay indeed, but one Boehly appears to be intent on disbursing in order to transform Chelsea once again.
