Chelsea’s owners reportedly want to keep youngster Billy Gilmour, who’s set for a meeting with manager Thomas Tuchel later today.
According to the Daily Mail on their deadline day live blog (11:23am), Premier League club Brighton are interested in signing Scottish talent Gilmour on a permanent basis on Thursday’s deadline day.
It is understood the Blues are unlikely to let the 21-year-old exit Stamford Bridge, though.
The report explains the Chelsea ownership, which co-owner Todd Boehly is an important part of, wants the Scotland international to stay beyond the summer window.
It’s been reported on Thursday that Gilmour will have discussions at some stage today directly with Tuchel to discuss a potential permanent transfer to Brighton.

Chelsea owners want to keep Gilmour
Fans of both Chelsea and Brighton will have to wait for the next few hours to find out the outcome of Gilmour’s talks.
He’s not played in any of the opening five Blues games in the Premier League, albeit he did at least make the match day squad in the midweek defeat to Southampton.
The central midfielder had a very difficult season-long loan at Norwich City last year, which eventually ended in relegation from the top division.
However, the deep-lying playmaker clearly has potential with a very high ceiling.
The fact he’s impressed in 22 first-team games in Chelsea colours is quite telling, but he needs to weigh up whether he thinks he can get regular minutes at the Bridge moving forward.

If Brighton want him, they’ll have to sign him on a permanent basis as they already have Levi Colwill on loan from the Blues.
The current problems in the Chelsea midfield mean plenty of supporters would like to see Gilmour get a chance in the next few weeks. Boehly and Co. are clearly admirers of his, too.
It seems doubtful that the young midfielder wants to risk spending months on the fringes of Tuchel’s squad, though.
