Thomas Tuchel would reportedly love Chelsea to sign Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos.

According to Football.London, Chelsea manager Tuchel is interested in reuniting with his ex-player Marquinhos at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel previously coached the 28-year-old defender when he was in charge at Paris, so is well aware of the player’s talent.

However, the report explains Chelsea’s boss recognises it would be nearly ‘impossible’ to secure a deal for the Brazil international this summer.

Marquinhos, who’s turned out to be a £27million bargain for French giants PSG, is their organiser in the heart of defence. He may play alongside superstars such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, but is still the big authority leader on the pitch.

Tuchel would love Chelsea to sign Marquinhos

It’s no surprise Chelsea’s boss wants to bring a top-class centre-back like Marquinhos into his squad for the new season.

With Antonio Rudiger now confirmed as a Real Madrid player, it means there’s a massive void to fill in the Blues defence next year.

Chelsea hit the jackpot when they signed Thiago Silva a couple of years ago following his PSG exit, and current international Brazilian teammate Marquinhos is very much built in the same mould. In fact, Marquinhos has credited ex-PSG teammate Silva as a massive influence on him.

If Tuchel’s side are to be strong defensively next season, they’re going to need a marquee addition at the back.

It’s been claimed that Sevilla’s Jules Kounde could be on his way to West London for £55million.
