Chelsea sources believe that the Mason Mount transfer saga will come to a head in the next week.

That is according to the Daily Mail.

They claim that Chelsea sources feel the Mason Mount saga will not drag on indefinitely.

In fact, this next week could be crucial in determining the outcome of the 24-year-old’s future.

The report adds that there’s now a sense that Manchester United will finally manage to sign Mount after weeks of speculation.

The Guardian has reported this week that Chelsea could now be willing to find a compromise over the sale of Mount to join Man United. They say the Blues have stuck to a £65million asking price so far, but will they lower it in the coming days?

With pre-season just around the corner now, we don’t want the Mount situation to cloud preparations for the new campaign under a new head coach.

The Telegraph has said Mount is prepared to tell Mauricio Pochettino he’ll be 100 per cent committed as long as he’s still on Chelsea’s books. We wouldn’t expect anything less from a class professional.

There’s been so many player exits at Chelsea in the past fortnight and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down.

We’re delighted to see the board act quickly with player sales this summer, which helps them balance the books and allows Pochettino to start work in pre-season with a more reasonable squad size.

It would have been great for Mount to be part of this new-look Chelsea side, but we feel now is the time to strike a deal with United.
