‘Scouting him’: Chelsea now looking at 24-year-old target-man who’s outscored Sterling this season – journalist

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Udinese centre-forward Beto.

It’s been claimed that the Blues have watched the 24-year-old target-man during several scouting missions recently, so they’re fully aware of his talent.

The Portuguese striker has six goals in 16 appearances so far this season for Serie A club Udinese. Therefore, he’s outscored every single Chelsea player during this campaign, including Blues top scorer Raheem Sterling (five).

It’s obvious there’s a problem at the front end of the pitch where not enough players are scoring enough goals. Hopefully, Graham Potter can change that post-World Cup.

Chelsea interested in Beto

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea’s search for a new attacker could lead them towards Italy.

Beto, who has 17 goals in 45 games since he joined Udinese in 2021, is now on the Blues transfer radar.

Simon Phillips told GiveMeSport: “There’s also other names to watch. There’s Beto from Udinese.

“Chelsea have been scouting him all this season on recent scouting missions, and they’ve stepped them up, so he’s another one that could come up.”

Beto may not have played any European football yet, but the 6ft 4in forward is testing himself in a challenging Serie A division.

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea may already be close to signing David Datro Fofana, who’s a 19-year-old forward playing in Norway with Molde.

It’s pretty obvious Potter needs another striker option due to Armando Broja’s injury, but are any of the transfer targets ready to challenge at Stamford Bridge right now?

The Evening Standard suggests Fofana could be loaned out immediately if he joins to make room for another attacking signing next month.
