Chelsea are in talks to sign three new players after agreeing a move for Marco Palestra, but there is also plenty of activity going on in terms of Blues players leaving.
Palestra is set to be confirmed in the coming days after he was spotted flying to London to complete a £43m move to Stamford Bridge from Atalanta. Chelsea are locked in talks trying to sign three more.
DISCUSS: Granit Xhaka is Chelsea’s perfect summer signing 🔟
Sunderland’s Granit Xhaka, Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria, and Crystal Palace’s France World Cup star are also subjects of Chelsea talks. All three players are supposedly keen on a move to West London.
But it is not all about incoming signings. Chelsea need to stage a summer exodus to reduce the bloated nature of Alonso’s inherited squad and plenty are being linked with an exit, including Gabriel Slonina.
Chelsea receive bid from Serie A club for Gabriel Slonina
Filip Jorgensen, Enzo Fernandez, Trevoh Chalobah, Malo Gusto, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, Romeo Lavia, Andrey Santos, Pedro Neto, Liam Delap and Marc Guiu could all leave this summer.
Tyrique George could complete a permanent move to Everton this week, too. Now, a new name could be added to that list in goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, according to a new report from The Sun this week.

Bought for £10m from Robert Lewandowski’s new side Chicago Fire in 2022, Slonina enters the summer window without playing a single game for Chelsea. Despite that, Parma have made an offer for him.
Parma are expecting offers for their no.1 goalkeeper, in Japan star Zion Suzuki with Aston Villa and Leeds United among his suitors. Chelsea would prefer a sale of Slonina, but Parma want a loan with an option.
Gabriel Slonina is the prime example of BlueCo’s failings
The owners have admitted they’ve made mistakes. The biggest one? Treating players like commodities and not realising the knock-on effect of signing so many young players in such a short space of time.
Tyrique George and 17-year-old Arthur Barratt are set to join Everton this week, and that says it all. Even Chelsea’s homegrown academy products cannot get a game at Chelsea due to the number of players.
Do you want to see Pep Chavarria, Marco Palestra or Jorrel Hato at left-back next season?
Chavarria didn't do a bad job in the Conference League final against Crystal Palace
Slonina is another prime example, but of a player brought in. Chelsea spent £10m on the goalkeeper, an eight-figure fee, and yet, there has never been a moment where Chelsea needed to call on Slonina.
Chelsea’s interest in Xhaka, Lacroix and Chavarria is proof that perhaps they have learned from their mistakes this summer. Three players all over the age of 27 is a big sign Chelsea have changed things.
