Journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a serious target for Newcastle United.
Eddie Howe’s side are currently enjoying the rewards for intelligent spending following their takeover a year ago.
They sit just outside of the top four, whilst also currently preparing for the League Cup final next weekend.

Their purchases however have not been the big names that may have been expected when the new owners came to the club, in a style seen when Todd Boehly first took over.
Newcastle’s targets have previously included a number of Chelsea names.
Hakim Ziyech and Conor Gallagher, both likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, have previously been linked with a move to St. James’ Park,
Now, it is Loftus-Cheek who is the latest target for the high-flying Magpies.
Newcastle want Loftus-Cheek
Jones said: “I know people like to imagine that there will be fancy names coming into Newcastle, but it’s just not the way they’ve been doing things. They want players that fit roles and there’ll be talk about Ruben Neves and Caicedo and they’ll definitely like those players.
“There also players like Loftus-Cheek, Scott McTominay, that are actually going to be serious targets at the end of this season.”
The 27-year-old has certainly been a favourite of Graham Potter’s since he took over at Stamford Bridge.

This has been seen most recently when he has elected to start the Englishman alongside Enzo Fernandez in the crucial Champions League match.
With plenty of midfielders still linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, the future in West London is certainly bleak for Loftus-Cheek.
There is also the options already available at the club, with N’golo Kante, Denis Zakaria Mateo Kovacic and of course Fernandez fighting for places.
