Andrey Santos is on the verge of leaving Chelsea on loan to join French side Strasbourg.

That is according to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Strasbourg, who are part of the multi-club model alongside Chelsea under BlueCo, could be about to complete a deal late in the January transfer window.

The Evening Standard reported earlier today that Strasbourg have entered talks with Andrey Santos about signing him on loan for the rest of the season.

Now, there’s claims that the 19-year-old will be moving to Ligue 1 on a temporary basis.

Fabrizio Romano has reported on Wednesday afternoon that Andrey Santos is set to complete a move from Chelsea to Strasbourg on loan.

Apparently, the Blues think this imminent transfer is the best step for his development.

“Chelsea have decided for Andrey Santos to join Strasbourg. It’s all set to be completed now,” Romano said on X.

“Internal discussion confirmed plan to loan Brazilian midfielder to French club as best option for development.

“Chelsea still believe Andrey has potential to become a top player.”

Andrey Santos to complete Strasbourg transfer

Hopefully, Santos enjoys a much healthier second half of the season than the first.

The Brazilian midfielder rarely played while on loan at Nottingham Forest in the last few months, so it was a no-brainer for Chelsea to recall him.

It would be great if Santos can play regularly and develop in Strasbourg colours. He’ll have a familiar face inside the dressing room, with Angelo Gabriel already on loan at Strasbourg from Chelsea.

There’s just over 24 hours left before the transfer window closes tomorrow night at 11pm, so will there be any more business at Stamford Bridge?
