Journalist Robin Bairner has claimed to GiveMeSport that Chelsea’s move to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig is almost guaranteed.
There have been widespread rumours that the Frenchman will join the Blues next year.
This comes after their attempts to sign him this summer fell short, with him eventually signing a new deal to stay with the Bundesliga side.

However, the reported release clause inserted in the deal made it obvious that Leipzig were bracing themselves to lose him to an elite side within the next year.
This looks like it is set to be case, with Chelsea reportedly holding a secret medical with the player over the summer despite not signing him.
Nkunku certain to join Chelsea
Bairner has claimed that reliable sources have all claimed that is practically guaranteed that Nkunku makes the move to Stamford Bridge next year.
He said: “I think with Nkunku, it seems to be there’s so much noise about it, it just seems to be a formality, I think. There have been so many reliable sources all agreeing on the same line, it seems Nkunku to Chelsea will happen. It’s a great move from Chelsea. Nkunku is the sort of player that Graham Potter will love, with his versatility.

“We’ve obviously seen him at Leipzig play effectively as a centre forward. But before then he’s played as an attacking midfielder, on the wing, slightly deeper in midfield if required. I think Graham Potter will absolutely love what he will bring to the team.”
Chelsea’s lack of goals has been a real worry for a number of seasons now, however Nkunku’s record has the potential to solve that issue.
Last season, his attacking returns actually combined for higher than his appearances, and his ability in front of goal is something Chelsea could do with right now, let alone next year.
