Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Alexis Vega from Mexican top-flight club Chivas de Guadalajara.

Vega, 25, is an exciting fast attacker that’s never played for a European club in his career.

However, he’s caught the eye for Mexico during their three World Cup group stage matches, albeit they’ve now exited the competition before the knockout phase.

The left-winger is an explosive player with great speed, dribbling and versatility to play anywhere across the forward line.

He’s got 47 direct goal contributions in 121 appearances for Chivas.

Chelsea interested in Alexis Vega

Journalist Simon Phillips has delivered an interesting line about Chelsea’s interest in Vega.

It’s been claimed that the Blues have now held discussions with the player’s agent and he’s firmly on their list of transfer targets.

When discussing players on Chelsea’s transfer target list, Simon Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “One player I have been told, who is also a winger and playing at the World Cup with Mexico, is Alexis Vega.

“We’ve had information come to us that he’s a player on Chelsea’s list of targets and we’ve actually already spoken to his agent as well, so that’s definitely one to keep an eye on.”

GIVEMESPORT claimed pre-World that Chelsea are among the clubs to be interested in Vega. Wolverhampton Wanderers, Real Madrid and Liverpool are all potential buyers, too.

It’s slightly worrying that Vega, who turned 25 last month, hasn’t yet been snapped up by someone in Europe. However, it does sound like that could soon change.

It’ll be interesting to see if Chelsea think he is ready to upgrade their defence, which isn’t the most potent right now.
