Al-Ettifaq close to agreeing Harvey Vale deal

Journalist Sami Mokbel has reported via X on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia side Al-Ettifaq have opened talks with Chelsea about a move to sign Harvey Vale from them.

It is understood that Gerrard has identified the 20-year-old Blues youngster as a ‘key target’.

Apparently, the clubs are close to an agreement for the versatile talent. However, it’ll fall on the English youngster on whether or not he wants to move to Saudi Arabia.

What should Harvey Vale do?

We’ve seen high-profile footballers move over to join the cash-rich clubs in Saudi Arabia, but it would be a different story if a young prospect goes down that route. Let’s wait and see what Vale decides to do, and what his advisors suggest for him.

Speaking via Bristol Rovers’ YouTube channel last October, Joey Barton described Vale as “phenomenal” when discussing his attitude.

Vale had a great loan spell in League One last season with Bristol Rovers, scoring three goals and making six assists in 47 first-team appearances.

He’s an extremely versatile talent who can play as a left-back, left-winger or attacking midfielder. So, where will he be playing his football next season?
