There could reportedly be a significant update on the future of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong today.
TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook shared last night that we might find out more about the midfielder’s future within the next 24 hours.
This comes at a time when the 25-year-old’s heavily linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge, so are Chelsea on the verge of completing another big deal this summer?
De Jong’s still got four years remaining on his contract at the Camp Nou, but an exit from Spain has been mooted this summer due to the La Liga club’s financial issues.
It’s been reported Chelsea are now actually drawing close to agreeing a transfer fee for the Holland international, moving ahead of Manchester United in the race for his signature. The final decision is going to lie with the player, though.

There’s a huge London derby at home to Tottenham just days away in the Premier League, but most Chelsea supporters are glued to the transfer rumour mill waiting to hear the latest updates.
It looks like Thomas Tuchel’s side are far from done in their quest to strengthen the squad.
The Blues are stacked with plenty of quality already in the centre of the park, but it looks like a big opportunity has come up to snap up Barcelona’s talented central midfielder De Jong.
If De Jong signs, it’ll be interesting to see if Chelsea boss Tuchel is tempted to tinker with formation in certain games.
There will be an abundance of midfield ability in the squad if De Jong arrives, so a 4-3-3 system is something he may need to check on.
