The European club Filip Jorgensen is willing to snub for Chelsea this summer

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen as they look to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer.

Filip Jorgensen’s arrival is not a positive development for Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic, who only joined Chelsea last year.

Despite Sanchez and Petrovic being recent signings, the Blues look ready to upgrade on them with the addition of Villarreal’s No.1.

Chelsea want a goalkeeper who can play out from the back, seemingly not happy with Sanchez and Petrovic’s distribution.

If Jorgensen arrives at Stamford Bridge, which is now expected, it is very likely that at least one of the two will leave before the transfer window closes.

Filip Jorgensen prefers move to Chelsea over Marseille

Chelsea are not the only club who seem to be interested in Jorgensen. French giants Marseille also look to be keen on the 22-year-old.

However, according to The Athletic, Jorgensen prefers a move to Chelsea over Marseille and the Blues are now close to agreeing a deal with Villarreal to sign him.

It they fail to get that over the line, it will be interesting to see who the club turn to.

Chelsea have ruled out signing Aaron Ramsdale, so the Arsenal man is unlikely to be an alternative if Jorgensen remains at Villarreal or moves elsewhere.

Filip Jorgensen making right decision

Chelsea are not the club they once were following Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital‘s takeover.

They have had two really disappointing seasons under them, finishing sixth in the last campaign and 12th the one prior to that.

However, Chelsea are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and finished higher in the Premier League than where Marseille finished in Ligue 1 last term.

Ultimately, Jorgensen choosing to join Chelsea is a good career move, as long as he gets game time under Enzo Maresca. And that should be the case, as you would imagine that Chelsea are not looking for another No.2 right now when they are trying to improve the quality of their team.
