Premier League side Brighton are interested in signing Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus, who’s also on the Chelsea radar this summer.

That is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

We heard earlier this week from journalist Simon Phillips on his Substack that Chelsea are looking at Mohammed Kudus as a potential transfer target in this current window.

Now, it turns out the Blues could have some big competition for his signature.

Romano has today claimed on Twitter that Brighton are now looking at Kudus as a top target they want to sign this summer.

He adds that Chelsea are yet to open conversations with Ajax’s 22-year-old star, too.

“Understand Mohammed Kudus is one of the top targets for Brighton this summer. He’s in the list, the interest is concrete,” Romano said.

“Not an easy deal but Brighton like Kudus — no concrete talks with Chelsea.”

Kudus enjoyed a fantastic season last year in Ajax colours, scoring 18 goals in 42 games across all competitions.

The left-footer, who’s still so young, is enjoying a lot of success as a right winger cutting infield. However, he’s extremely versatile and can play a number of different attacking or midfield roles.

We can definitely see why teams in England are looking at the Ghana international, who The Athletic say could cost around £40million to sign from Ajax this summer.

Brighton’s success rate in the transfer market during the last few years is perhaps the biggest sign Kudus has a bright future ahead of him.

If Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino likes the profile, we wouldn’t mind the club ramping up interest to really rival Brighton for his signature.
