'The one I expect to leave': Fabrizio Romano is convinced £33m man is on his way out at Chelsea soon

Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano expects Hakim Ziyech to leave Chelsea during this summer transfer window.

Transfer guru Romano reports Italian club AC Milan are interested in signing 29-year-old attacker Ziyech.

However, the Italian champions are currently focused on securing a deal to sign 21-year-old playmaker Charles de Ketelaere from Club Brugge.

Once De Ketelaere joins, Milan will switch focus towards Chelsea’s winger to negotiate a deal that takes him to the San Siro.

Romano expects Ziyech to leave Chelsea

Ziyech, who moved to Stamford Bridge for £33.3million in 2020, is now being strongly tipped to exit West London before the new season begins.

The left-footed attacker did finish last season with eight goals and six assists across all competitions, but his Blues career has been very up and down.

“The one I expect to leave is Hakim Ziyech. AC Milan want him but for the moment they are focused on Charles de Ketelaere as their priority target, and then they will understand the conditions of the Ziyech deal,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

Writing is on the wall

All speculation appears to be pointing towards Ziyech leaving Chelsea.

It’s been reported recently that the Blues informed the Moroccan attacker that he’s not part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans in the upcoming campaign.

He is still away on pre-season duty with the squad in the United States right now, though.

The African star has shown glimpses in a Chelsea shirt of what he regularly produced in Ajax colours, but the same consistency just hasn’t been there.

It would be a disappointment to see him leave in this window. However, the addition of Raheem Sterling to the squad this summer does add even more competition for places in the final third.
