Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly looks determined to make one signing this summer.

Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over Chelsea, the club have not messed around in the transfer market.

For example, they broke their transfer record last August after signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion for £115m.

However, even with so much talk about the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules going on right now, it does not look like Boehly and Chelsea are finished yet.

Everything is pointing towards the Blues spending big on a striker when the transfer window opens in the summer.

The signing Todd Boehly wants Chelsea to make

If Boehly gets his way in the summer, then Chelsea’s attack could get a bit of a revamp.

A report from The Sun has claimed that the American wants to land a striker that is going to score goals for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side.

According to the outlet, he is ready to make a big push to ensure that and other areas in the squad are addressed.

Following Armando Broja’s loan move to Fulham, Pochettino only has one recognised centre-forward at Stamford Bridge right now, Nicolas Jackson.

While it is a position that Christopher Nkunku can also play, the Frenchman is still out injured, which has been the story of his season.

Which striker should Todd Boehly and Chelsea push for?

Chelsea need a centre-forward who is prolific. That is what is going to take them back to the top of English football again.

Right now, the Blues are being linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez. Both players fit the criteria.

This season, for instance, Martinez has scored 23 goals in 26 Serie A appearances. Osimhen has not been as prolific, but last term the 25-year-old netted 26 times in 32 outings, showing that he is also a deadly striker.

If Chelsea can get one of them, it could transform the team.
