Incoming Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has already been discussing with the club the signings he would like them to make at Stamford Bridge this summer.

It very much sounds like Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca, 44, is on the verge of becoming Chelsea head coach.

The Telegraph claims that Chelsea are poised to appoint Maresca as their new man in the dugout within the next 24 hours.

He’s just guided Leicester to promotion as Championship title winners in only his second ever job in senior management, but it’s been enough to convince the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca wants three priority signings

The Telegraph’s report claims that Maresca spent most of Tuesday in discussions with Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, where he was mapping out plans for the future at the Bridge.

It is explained that the 44-year-old coach is already discussing with the club potential transfers targets.

The report says that Maresca would like the Blues to prioritise the signing of a new goalkeeper, left-back and forward this summer.

Chelsea rumours have started

In fairness, Chelsea are already linked with several different potential targets in the transfer rumour mill.

The report above mentions Maresca’s desire to sign a new goalkeeper. Well, the club are rumoured to be interested in a high-profile gloveman.

The Sun has claimed that Chelsea are ready to make a £20m swoop for Burnley and England keeper James Trafford this summer.

For the Blues to successfully implement Maresca’s preferred possession-based style of football, a new ball-playing goalkeeper does feel like it should be top of the summer wish-list.

As for the left-back and forward position, it could be worth seeing what’s in the squad first during pre-season.
