Dean Jones claims Chelsea remain intent on landing Dynamo Moscow’s Arsen Zakharyan after reportedly failing in the summer.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones suggested the Stamford Bridge hierarchy have not let the talented teenager out of their sights.

Chelsea apparently nearly acquired Zakharyan for £12.6m before the season began.

However, the deal crumbled due to FIFA and UEFA rules on signing Russian players.

Todd Boehly seemingly hasn’t yet been put off by the restrictions, as he continues his pursuit of the Dynamo diamond.

“There’s no doubt they still want this guy,” explained Jones.

“He’s a big deal and Chelsea are ready to roll out the red carpet for him, in many ways. They want to make him feel special and they want to make him feel wanted.

“They believe that he’s got something very special and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they do try to sign him again.”

All about Arsen Zakharyan

Some of you might be asking: what is all the fuss with this 19-year-old?

Those within the Russian region will tell you Zakharyan remains one of the country’s biggest footballing assets.

He has already provided six assists and scored three times this season for Dynamo.

The attacker managed 18 goal contributions last term, missing just two games in total.

His numbers are strong, with many years ahead of him to improve.

Boehly clearly views the Russian international as one for the future, as he hopes of building a younger, generational Chelsea team.

The American owner might just be in luck as well.

Zakharyan has already declared his desire to play for the Blues one day.

“I immediately said that I want to,” he said when asked about the Londoner’s apparent interest.

“I got my parents right away.”

If that’s not a sign, we are not sure what is…
