Thomas Tuchel is now trying to beat Chelsea to the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni after Bayern Munich made contact with Real Madrid.

That is according to Sport1 in Germany.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Defensa Central – Chelsea made a £51m bid for the France international earlier this summer, although it was rejected.

A story from SPORT in Spain then claimed that Chelsea plan to submit an improved offer for Tchouameni, which could potentially be worth as much as £69m.

Now – however – Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich are on the scene.

Sport1 believe the German giants have approached Real Madrid to ask about a deal for Tchouameni, who endured a tough debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu following his £85.3m move from Monaco in June 2022.

Tuchel is on the hunt for a standout midfielder after missing out on Declan Rice to Arsenal, with the French Chelsea target now firmly in his sights.

Bayern Munich have time to beat Chelsea to Tchouameni

As things stand, Chelsea seem a little preoccupied, and are not in a position to mount a serious push for Tchouameni.

The Blues have just seen a £70m bid rejected for Moises Caicedo, and The Times believe further talks are set to take place with Brighton in the United States this week.

According to the Evening Standard, the Ecuador international is desperate for the move to happen, and has already agreed a contract with Chelsea.

Chelsea have also suffered bad news after Wesley Fofana ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that the Blues will look for defensive reinforcements once a new bid for Caicedo is made.

Clearly, Chelsea have a lot on their plate right now, which gives Tuchel and Bayern Munich a golden opportunity to make progress on Tchouameni ahead of the Blues.
