Tottenham Hotspur do not look prepared to break the bank for one striker this summer in a potential boost to Chelsea.
Chelsea need a new centre-forward and have been linked with him, though there is also heavy interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea could offer Romelu Lukaku and others in their bid to sign Osimhen, but if that fails and the Blues cannot land the 25-year-old there are other options.
There is always the possibility of Chelsea just going into the new season with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu as their main two strikers.
Guiu has impressed in pre-season, recently scoring against Club America, but if that is not an avenue they want to go down, then Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou could be about to do them a little bit of a favour.

Tottenham reluctant to trigger Dominic Solanke’s release clause
Another centre-forward who Chelsea also appear to have on their radar is Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.
According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham and Chelsea have both shown an interest in Solanke, but the former are unlikely to make a club-record offer for him.
The same outlet claims that the 26-year-old has a £65m release clause in his contract and if Spurs were to pay that, it would surpass the £60m fee they handed to Everton for Richarlison in 2022.
Bournemouth actually expect Solanke to stay at the Vitality Stadium this summer despite the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea circling.
Chelsea also linked with Julian Alvarez
Solanke is not the only Premier League forward who Chelsea have been linked with. Earlier this summer, it was claimed that Chelsea had their eyes on Julian Alvarez.
If Alvarez is to leave Manchester City during this transfer window, though, Atletico Madrid appear to be his most likely destination.
According to The Athletic, Atletico are already in talks with City for Alvarez. If a new centre-forward is to arrive at Stamford Bridge, at this moment in time, it seems like it will be Osimhen.
