How much money Chelsea want to spend on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen

Chelsea want to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, but the club have given themselves a budget.

Chelsea were heavily linked with Victor Osimhen earlier in the summer, but things went a bit quiet, with his release clause seemingly putting the Blues off.

However, with Napoli desiring Romelu Lukaku, that could now open up the possibility of a swap deal that would see Osimhen move in the opposite direction.

It would be a really good deal for Chelsea, who are trying to get rid of Lukaku and recruit a new striker.

But Napoli will want money as well, as opposed to doing a straight swap, which could be a problem for the Blues.

Chelsea want to include more than one player in deal for Victor Osimhen

Lukaku may not be the only player who Chelsea tell Napoli to take. According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are keen on including multiple players in the potential deal for Osimhen.

The outlet claims by doing that, Chelsea hope to significantly lower Osimhen’s price tag, with the club wanting to spend less than £45m on their new striker.

Lukaku, £45m and another Chelsea player does not sound like the worst deal for Napoli. The Serie A outfit entertaining such a proposal, though, seems unlikely.

But so far, they have been unwilling to meet Lukaku’s asking price, while Chelsea are also refusing to trigger Osimhen’s release clause. This could be the best solution for both clubs, then.

Napoli are interested in Cesare Casadei, so perhaps the Italian is another player who Chelsea could offer.

Being left out of the team’s tour of the United States, Casadei is unlikely to be part of Enzo Maresca‘s senior squad this summer.

Napoli will want more than £45m for Victor Osimhen

Even with Lukaku included in the deal, there is just no way that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is going to accept a £45m offer for Osimhen.

After all, this is a player who signed a new contract with a reported £110m release clause only last year.

If Osimhen is to arrive at Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes, you suspect that a lot of negotiating is going to have to be done.
