Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is moving closer to leaving Stamford Bridge after England’s 2-1 loss to Argentina in the World Cup on Wednesday.

Things are now likely to move quicker following England’s elimination from the semi-final, with Como and Inter Milan both showing interest in Chalobah throughout the tournament.

However, Como are the Italian outfit who appear to have won the race for the Chelsea star’s signature.

Como set to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea

According to Sky Sports Italy, Como are finalising a deal to sign Chalobah from Chelsea as they look to strengthen their central defence.

Cesc Fabregas is in need of reliable reinforcements ahead of Como’s first-ever Champions League campaign next season.

While Chalobah is set to leave Chelsea this summer, another centre-back could be about to join the Blues.

Chelsea want to recruit Maxence Lacroix, and following France’s own elimination at the World Cup semi-final stage, fans may also see some progress being made there.

Xabi Alonso will still have too many centre-halves after Chalobah is sold, so there could be more exits between now and the end of the transfer window.

Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are just a couple of names who come to mind. The latter’s injury problems may make it difficult to find a buyer, though.
