Thomas Tuchel now wants to sign Randal Kolo Muani – who is also a target for Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

By the sounds of it, Thomas Tuchel could be a thorn in Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino‘s side in the transfer market this summer, as Randal Kolo Muani is not the only Blues target he’s after.

What’s the story?

Well, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are on the hunt for a standout No.9 this summer, and both sides appear to be barking up the same tree.

Romano believes Tuchel is looking at Dusan Vlahovic – who ESPN believe has been the subject of a bid from Chelsea – and has shortlisted Kolo Muani as well.

It comes after Christian Falk – a journalist for BILD – stated that the France international is waiting to see if Pochettino will approach him for talks about a move to Stamford Bridge.

Falk told Caught Offside: “Randal Kolo Muani’s decision will come after the DFB-Pokal cup final and France’s upcoming national games.

“He has time, then, to reach a decision and keep an eye on Manchester United’s ownership situation (which will affect how much they can spend).

“Chelsea are still in the race and he wants to wait and see if there will be talks with Mauricio Pochettino.”

Kolo Muani has enjoyed a sensation 2022/23 campaign in Germany, scoring 23 goals while also providing 17 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Kolo Muani will be expensive for Chelsea

Eintracht Frankfurt could soon make an immense profit on their No.9 – who they signed on a free transfer back in March 2022.

A story from 90min states that the German side want £88m for their talisman this summer, following a brilliant campaign in which he also announced himself on the international stage at the World Cup.

If Chelsea want to take advantage of Kolo Muani’s willingness to wait for talks with Pochettino, it will require a significant bid to tempt Eintracht Frankfurt into letting their star man depart.

Ultimately, it could all come down to who Chelsea manage to sell this summer, as an £88m bid may be difficult to finance without fringe players being offloaded first.
