Chelsea could get the chance to sign one attacker whom they were linked with during the summer.
Chelsea improved their forward line in the last transfer window after bringing Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto to the club.
However, before the trio arrived, the Blues were linked with other attackers, including Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.
At one point, it was claimed that Chelsea were ready to trigger Olise’s release clause when he was still at Crystal Palace. As well as the winger, the club were also said to have been interested in Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.
Ademola Lookman could leave Atalanta in January
After an incredible season at Atalanta where he inspired the Italian club to Europa League glory, Lookman was linked with a move to Chelsea.
Nothing materialised in the end, but if the Blues want to sign him in the winter transfer window, then they may be able to.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Lookman is open to a new challenge and could be available for around £25m in January.
He has scored two goals and provided two assists in four Serie A appearances for Atalanta this season.
Chelsea should consider replacing Mykhailo Mudryk with Ademola Lookman
Enzo Maresca already has a lot of attacking players in his squad, but not all of them have been able to perform in a blue shirt.
Mykhailo Mudryk, for example, has really struggled at Chelsea since joining the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023.
He has only made one start in the Premier League this season and was only able to score five top-flight goals last term.
Lookman has mainly played as a striker and second striker for Atalanta, but he is also capable of playing on the left wing. Therefore, the 26-year-old could be a good replacement for Mudryk if the Ukrainian does not improve.
Lookman was such a threat for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in the previous campaign, scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
“His professionalism was unbelievable,” Brendan Rodgers told talkSPORT when talking about his time working with Lookman.
