Mason Mount is now in the dark about his future at Chelsea after Manchester United saw a third bid rejected for the England international.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
So, what is the latest on Mason Mount at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – by the sounds of it – the Chelsea No.19 now has no idea what is going to happen in regards to his future at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United have offered £55m to sign Mount – who is refusing to sign a new contract at Chelsea.
However, the Blues want £65m to sell their academy graduate – a sum which Manchester United feel is unreasonable given the fact he only has 12 months remaining on his contract.
The Evening Standard believe Manchester United are now pursuing other targets, leaving Mount – who Joe Cole once called an “unbelievable” footballer – in limbo.

There has been no further contact between the 24-year-old and the Red Devils, despite the fact Chelsea’s wantaway midfielder is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United have left their £55m bid on the table as they explore alternative options, which suggests Erik ten Hag’s side are putting pressure on Chelsea to accept the offer.
Chelsea need to resolve Mason Mount situation
While we admire Chelsea’s persistence to get £65m for Mount, the Blues cannot alienate Manchester United, as it seems no other club are willing to spend as much on the Englishman.
There is interest from Bayern Munich – according to the Guardian – although it remains to be seen how much the German giants would spend on Mount, given the fact Bundesliga sides aren’t as wealthy as those in the Premier League.

In context, a £55m bid for someone who will leave for free in the summer of 2024 is a decent offer, and Mauricio Pochettino cannot afford to have an unhappy player lingering around during pre-season.
Hopefully, Chelsea find a swift solution to this problem, and can reinvest the funds on a new signing or two.
