Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has been heavily linked with Chelsea in recent times, but will fans ever see him at Stamford Bridge?
Alejandro Garnacho, 21, has been mentioned as a Chelsea transfer target quite regularly in 2025.
The Blues have already recruited in the wide areas this summer with the addition of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. However, it’s been claimed that Chelsea could sign both Gittens and Garnacho in the same window.
It was previously reported that Garnacho is keen on joining Chelsea and the Enzo Maresca project, so the latest twist in the transfer rumour mill feels quite significant.

Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson swap mooted
According to The i Paper, Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson could swap places this summer because both Man Utd and Chelsea are keen to accelerate the sales of their respective players.
It is explained that Man Utd are interested in signing Chelsea striker Jackson, 24, but haven’t made a bid yet.
Meanwhile, Garnacho has ‘told’ Man Utd that he wants to leave this summer amid interest from Chelsea. The Blues are long-term admirers of the winger, who they like because of the way he carries the ball and takes on opposition players. Aston Villa and Tottenham have the £60m-rated star on their radar, too.
The report adds that ‘one source admitted’ that some form of swap deal could see both the Jackson and Garnacho transfers come to fruition, even though Chelsea and Man Utd would prefer straight sales.
The Chelsea Chronicle revealed that intermediaries are currently gauging interest in Jackson. It looks like he’s slipped down the pecking order in West London following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, so it will be interesting to see if he’s still with Chelsea by the start of next season.
Both Jackson and Garnacho impressed for their respective teams in moments last term, but the transfer noise around both is growing louder.

Do Chelsea need another winger?
There’s an argument to be made that Chelsea have enough in their first-team squad to scrap any plans to sign another winger this summer.
At the moment, the Blues would be entering next season with Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Estevao Willian and Tyrique George as their main options for the wide areas. Versatile attackers Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro can operate on the wings, too.
On top of that, exciting winger Geovany Quenda will be completing his move to Stamford Bridge in 2026 after another campaign developing with Sporting Lisbon.
If a suitable winger comes along, Chelsea should definitely consider it. However, we’re not sure that Garnacho is the type of game-changing addition that makes too much sense, even if it could be a factor in Jackson’s future.
