Chelsea players have been asking for assurances over incomings as worry begins to creep in at Stamford Bridge.

That is according to the Daily Mail.

What’s the story?

Well, the Blues have only made one signing for the first-team so far this summer in the 22-year-old Nicolas Jackson, who arrived from Villarreal in a £32m deal.

Angelo Gabriel has also been signed from Santos, but is expected to be loaned straight out to Strasbourg.

In terms of outgoings, Mauricio Pochettino has lost a lot of experience in the form of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and others, with those left at Chelsea now worried about the lack of seniority.

The Daily Mail believe some players at Chelsea have been seeking assurances from the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge that reinforcements will arrive, due to the excessive amount of departures, combined with few new arrivals.

If that is true, it is fair enough from those players – Chelsea definitely need to make a number of signings if they want to improve on last season’s dreadful 12th place finish in the Premier League.

Who Chelsea could sign

In fairness to Chelsea, there was an urgency to focus on outgoings last month, as The Athletic claimed that June 30th represented a deadline for player sales to be included as part of this year’s financial books.

Now – after a number of successful sales, recouping a large amount of cash – incomings are the flavour of July, and Moises Caicedo appears to be the most likely player to arrive at Chelsea next.

The Evening Standard believe Chelsea will make a new bid for the Brighton No.25 this week worth over £70m.

Caicedo himself is hoping for the offer to be accepted, having already agreed personal terms with the Blues.

Therefore, if Brighton and Chelsea can agree a fee, that deal should be finalised quite quickly.
