However, ESPN claims that despite links between Chelsea and the player, there has been no official approach from the Blues at all.

Chelsea’s left side is already crowded with Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and potentially Mykhailo Mudryk. Adding Vinicius would likely force Garnacho to the right, but then there is the likes of Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian, so it could take a Chelsea exit for it to be feesable.
Liam Rosenior prefered his winger to act more like attacking midfielders at Strasbourg. While Vinicius Jr. is a traditional touchline hugger, his world-class 1v1 ability would help the Blues break down low blocks, something Cole Palmer often has to do alone.
It just comes down to price and wages, as he won’t come cheap.
