Right now, it is looking increasingly likely that Chelsea will be presented with another opportunity to sign Maignan.
The Frenchman appears to be unsettled at the San Siro again, and a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport has now claimed that a final decision on his future is likely to be made once Milan’s new manager is in place.
After last summer’s failed pursuit, it was recently claimed that Chelsea are still interested in signing Maignan.
The above is hardly a shock after Robert Sanchez’s inconsistency last season and the likely departure of Filip Jorgensen.
Maignan is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, making him a logical target for Chelsea as they weigh up bringing in a new shot-stopper.

Whether Chelsea make another move for Maignan is likely to hinge on incoming manager Xabi Alonso.
If Alonso is content with Sanchez, he could easily continue with him and make Mike Penders the 28-year-old’s deputy.
Should he not be completely satisfied, you can expect Chelsea to swoop for Maignan or another goalkeeper. Alonso, who has the title of manager rather than head coach, is going to have a big say on transfers this summer. If the former Real Madrid boss wants a new keeper, he should have enough power to get one.
The goalkeeper situation at Stamford Bridge is certainly something to keep an eye on. The moment Maignan becomes available — if he does become available — Chelsea could make a move for him, and it is a transfer that supporters are likely to welcome.
