Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is a surprise name linked with Chelsea in the transfer rumour mill recently.

There’s already a lot of attacking talent in the current Chelsea squad, but there’s still speculation about potential new incomings at Stamford Bridge this month.

Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho, 20, may be on the Blues radar in this January transfer window.

Chelsea recently made an enquiry about Man Utd attacker Garnacho as he fits the right profile for them. However, Napoli are close to reaching personal terms with Garnacho.

Whether Chelsea still have a chance to sign Alejandro Garnacho after development

According to The i Paper, Chelsea are still rated as ‘serious contenders’ to sign Garnacho in this window despite Napoli ‘making progress’ in their discussions with Man Utd over a transfer.

It is explained that Ruben Amorim’s side are open to selling their 20-year-old wide man to help raise transfer funds.

The report states that Italian club Napoli have been leading the race for the Argentine youngster, but Chelsea remain in the race and may attempt a late swoop for his signature.

Apparently, Napoli already failed with a £40m offer for Garnacho. The Man Utd speedster is interested in leaving, with a switch to Naples appealing to him.

Garnacho is one of the Premier League’s most valuable Under-21s players, along with Chelsea duo Levi Colwill and Romeo Lavia. Will we see even more supreme young talent arrive at the Stamford Bridge building before the transfer window shuts on 3 February?

Alejandro Garnacho is a ‘top target’ for Chelsea

Even though Napoli are strongly linked with Man Utd’s Garnacho right now, Chelsea definitely appear to be in the picture as well. In fact, journalist Fabrizio Romano just labelled him as a ‘top target’ for the Blues.

Romano said via his YouTube channel: “Garnacho is a top target for Chelsea because they’ve included his name among three or four options they have for the winger position… From what I understand, Chelsea had fresh contacts with Manchester United for Garnacho today (Tuesday). They will have more contact in the next days.”

Chelsea fans will wait and see what happens during the final couple of weeks of the January window, which is heating up to a crazy finish.

If one or two new quality players arrive at the club, that’ll be uplifting for Blues head coach Enzo Maresca. However, there are still many individuals that need to try to find a transfer exit to go play regular football elsewhere.
