This summer, a new striker sounds like it will be a priority for Xabi Alonso. While Joao Pedro has been excellent since arriving, Alonso wants another striker, and Dusan Vlahovic is a real target.
Vlahovic is one of those players who are constantly linked with a move to the Premier League, year after year. The biggest clubs in England’s top tier have all been touted as signing the Serbian at some stage.

Do you agree with them?
Chelsea are no different, consistently proposed as a possible suitor. But this summer, Vlahovic will leave Juventus with his contract expiring at the end of the month, and a move to England is on the cards.
Chelsea are in talks and are said to be leading the race for Vlahovic this summer. Now, a report from Tutto Juve explains why Chelsea are interested and how a decision could be made even this month.
Why Chelsea are pushing so hard to sign Dusan Vlahovic
Certainly, Chelsea are not alone in their pursuit of the Juventus striker. Big clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all touted with a move. Vlahovic’s friend recently backed him to join Barcelona.

The issue Chelsea have is that without European competition, how can they do a deal for Vlahovic if the other names mentioned are also pushing? Chelsea’s chances of success depend on interest from rivals.
Italian site TuttoJuve say they ‘see the Serbian as an ideal candidate to enhance their quality, physicality, and finishing ability in attack’. That suggests Chelsea want a stronger striker to compete with Pedro.
Vlahovic won’t start for Bayern Munich, and he won’t start for Madrid. Barcelona need a striker, but it is easy to imagine Barca signing another centre-forward as well as Vlahovic, and he may be back-up.
David Trezeguet thinks Dusan Vlahovic is better than Harry Kane
For many, England skipper Kane is the best centre-forward in the world, more so than Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski. But just last year, French legend David Trezeguet said Vlahovic is better than Kane.
Julian Alvarez, Dusan Vlahovic and Jean Philippe-Mateta could all be available in 2026. Who would you like to see Chelsea sign?
Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Marc Guiu did not convince at all in the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth
Perhaps slightly biased given his Juventus links, Trezeguet was asked to rank the world’s best forwards. Unsurprisingly, Lionel Messi ranked top, Haaland second and Kylian Mbappe was picked as third best.
Trezeguet only named Kane as the ninth-best striker in world football, picking Vlahovic in seventh above Barcelona target Julian Alvarez. More reason why Chelsea are pushing to do a deal for the Juve star.
