Despite barely playing for Chelsea this season, the club’s stance on Benoit Badiashile is that he is not for sale.

It was recently claimed that Chelsea were happy to part ways with Badiashile in the January transfer window.

However, earlier this week, multiple journalists reported that the central defender is not for sale after a clear briefing from the club.

Based on this briefing, Chelsea appear to admire Badiashile’s versatility and passing. He has still only managed to make one appearance in the Premier League this season, though.

Chelsea quash Benoit Badiashile rumours

There has been talk about Badiashile, as well as Chelsea‘s goalkeeper situation amid Robert Sanchez’s inconsistent form, but the Blues have not entertained it.

In fact, according to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea have been quick to shut down all of these transfer rumours because they do not want to risk unsettling their squad at this stage of the season.

On Substack, he wrote: “My top source messaged me soon after all of this last night and to us it’s simple — Chelsea don’t want any rumours out there at this stage of the season that could upset the flow or the camp.”

With the January transfer window not far away, you would expect only more rumours to emerge in the coming weeks, so Chelsea could have more briefing to do.

Benoit Badiashile will find it hard to break into first team

Badiashile has picked up a couple of bad injuries during his time at Chelsea, which is one reason why the centre-back has missed a lot of games.

However, he is currently fit so is available to play. The only problem is Levi Colwill is ahead of him right now, and he is not someone Enzo Maresca is going to drop any time soon.

In the words of the player himself, Colwill is at the top of his game at the moment, so Badiashile is going to have to accept being on Chelsea’s bench.

If the France international cannot, then he is going to have to leave the club. But if Chelsea’s public stance is to be believed, it looks like they would prefer for him to stay.
