Barcelona and Atletico Madrid appear to be the two main suitors for Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella’s family are Barcelona supporters, so they will not be disappointed to see him move there this summer.
However, it looks like the Catalan club, Atletico and other interested parties are going to have to remain patient in the battle for the left-back’s signature.
Who would you sign to replace Marc Cucurella? 🫵
Andrea Cambiaso is the latest player to be linked.
Chelsea star Marc Cucurella fully focused on winning World Cup with Spain
A report from Marca claims that Cucurella has made up his mind and definitely wants to leave Chelsea this summer.
It is unlikely that any kind of deal is agreed this month, though. According to the same outlet, Cucurella’s focus is on trying to win the World Cup with Spain and he will not make a decision on which club to join until after the tournament.
Cucurella has also been linked with Manchester United, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says a return to Spain is more likely.
Cucurella is one of Chelsea’s best defenders and one of the most experienced players in their squad. Yet the Blues seem prepared to let him go for the right price.

It is good news for Barcelona and Atletico, who are the frontrunners for his signature, as per Marca’s report.
From Chelsea’s point of view, they may think now is a good time to offload Cucurella. The Spain international is 27 and has a couple of years left on his contract, so he still has some resale value.
There is clearly a market for him as well, with two of Spanish football’s biggest clubs showing interest in the player.
At this stage, it would be a surprise if Cucurella remained at Chelsea. Once Spain’s participation at the World Cup is over, everything is pointing towards the former Brighton & Hove Albion man joining either Barcelona or Atletico.
It means Chelsea could go into the new season with Jorrel Hato as their starting left-back.
