‘Will bid’: Premier League side planning move for Chelsea player today once they sell £15m man

Tottenham will bid to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea today once the north Londoners sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

That is according to Rahman Osman.

So, what is the latest on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the England international could still leave Stamford Bridge before today’s 11pm deadline.

Tottenham are pushing hard to sign Gallagher after also agreeing a deal with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson – a player Chelsea also considered buying.

However, Spurs will need to offload the £15m Hojbjerg before they can make a realistic move for the Chelsea academy graduate.

Osman wrote on Twitter: “Keep an eye on Conor Gallagher. Tottenham will bid for him once Hojbjerg completes the deal with Fulham or Atletico, and that will be done once Palhinha completes his move to Bayern.”

Clearly, a lot needs to fall into place before Ange Postecoglou can make an offer for the Chelsea No.23 today.

Conor Gallagher leaving Chelsea for Tottenham seems hard to fathom

We will be very surprised if Gallagher actually agrees to this move – even if Chelsea and Tottenham can agree a fee.

The Epsom-born midfielder is a huge Chelsea fan, and the smile on his face when talking about captaining the side against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday just showed how much he loves the Blues.

So, for Gallagher to throw that all away just to join Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham seems unlikely – in our view at least.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen before today’s 11pm deadline.
