Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Manchester United are prepared to walk away from a move for Mason Mount this summer.
He told GiveMeSport that the two clubs still have quite the gap between their valuations of the player ahead of a potential move.
It has looked almost certain over the last few weeks that Chelsea are going to be saying goodbye to Mount this summer, something which seemed unimaginable just a year ago.

However, a poor, injury-hit campaign has seen him no longer hold the bargaining power over the club that he once did.
Erik ten Hag has been reportedly leading interest in signing the England international, who has just one year left on his current deal.
United will walk away from Mount deal
The Blues will not want to lose him for free, however have certainly set their price that they are willing to part company with him for.
Jacobs has claimed however that United will walk away if they can’t get a price agreed on their terms.
He said: “Mason Mount is perhaps the most talked about out of the possible exits. Manchester United really want to get this one done, but they won’t match Chelsea’s £70-75m valuation.

“They want Mount for under £60m and perhaps even closer to £50m. Although Chelsea want Mount to stay there remains a high probability he will leave. But Manchester United will walk away if the price doesn’t drop.”
Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wanted the opportunity to work with Mount in his first season at the club, and newfound optimism from the new boss could at least go some way to influencing his decision.
If not, Chelsea will need to work quickly to find his replacement ahead of next season.
