Chelsea still have a vision to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice when the right opportunity arises, it’s been claimed.
Journalist Dean Jones reports that there are people “within the club” at Chelsea who still dream of bringing West Ham’s midfielder to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood that the appointment of Graham Potter, who became the new Blues head coach last week, doesn’t alter plans to sign Rice further down the line.
“Thomas Tuchel’s departure won’t really affect Chelsea’s vision of signing Declan Rice,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.
“There are still people that remain within the club that are set on going for Declan Rice when the time arrives.”

Chelsea vision to sign Declan Rice
With less than two years left on his contract at the London Stadium, there’s a lot of talk with supporters about Rice’s long-term future.
West Ham manager, David Moyes, said earlier this year that Rice is worth at least £150million to the Hammers.
Chelsea reportedly considered a move to sign Rice in the recent summer transfer window, but the club invested heavily in other areas of the pitch.
The England international has developed himself into one of the Premier League’s top midfielders in West Ham colours, plus he’s now getting some European football with them.
However, the talented 23-year-old star is yet to play in the glamorous Champions League competition.

Many fans are convinced that Rice, who was in Chelsea’s academy as a youngster, will one day end up wearing blue again.
He looks tailor-made to sign for one of the elite sides in England, but credit to West Ham for being ambitious in their spending this summer to keep developing.
Rice is West Ham’s club captain and so vital to their set up, but time is ticking on his current deal.
If he doesn’t extend his stay, the Hammers have a big decision to make next year when it comes to cashing in or getting another season from him.
