One Chelsea player who will definitely not be leaving Stamford Bridge this month is Thiago Silva.

Fluminense have tried to re-sign Thiago Silva in recent years and in their last conversation with him, the central defender told the club that he is going to fulfil his contract at Chelsea, according to Trivela.

Silva’s deal does not expire until the summer, meaning that the 39-year-old has no plans to leave Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

It is good news for Mauricio Pochettino, as he has been such a key player for the Blues boss this season.

Silva has missed just one Premier League game, showing his importance to his manager.

Thiago Silva not leaving Chelsea this month

It does not look like Silva will be leaving Chelsea in this transfer window and he should not depart in the next one either.

Again, he has been a big player for Pochettino’s side in the current campaign. Not only is Silva playing, but he is also still performing despite his age.

For example, only three players have made more clearances than the Brazilian in the Premier League this season, Max Kilman, Joachim Andersen and Ethan Pinnock, as shown on the division’s official website.

Chelsea, however, look prepared to let Silva go at the end of the campaign, with the Blues yet to offer the Brazil international a new contract.

In terms of who could succeed him in central defence, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Chelsea are part of the conversation for Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Whatever happens, Silva, who is a “world-class” player in the eyes of Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, has been a great servant to Chelsea.

Arriving in west London at 35, the former Paris Saint-Germain captain has gone on to make well over 100 appearances for the Blues.
