Despite arriving at Stamford Bridge not too long ago, one Chelsea star’s career there could already be over.
Chelsea have been very busy in the last two summer transfer windows. In 2024, they signed the likes of Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Renato Veiga.
The year before, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi and Djordje Petrovic all joined the club to name a few signings.
After not getting a move last month, Nkunku could leave Chelsea at the end of the season, but the forward is not the only arrival from the Blues’ 2023 summer window who could be about to depart.

Djordje Petrovic ‘likely’ to leave Chelsea in the summer
Petrovic is currently at Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg and is having a good season there.
However, once his loan is over, it does not look like the goalkeeper will return to Stamford Bridge to be a starter.
According to GiveMeSport, it is “likely” that Petrovic departs Chelsea in the next transfer window, with the club retaining their faith in Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.
Sanchez has come under fire this season after making some costly mistakes, but the above would suggest that Chelsea are not giving up on him just yet.

Djordje Petrovic has outperformed Robert Sanchez this season
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has hailed Petrovic as a “world-class goalkeeper”, as shared by the Evening Standard. That seems quite excessive, but there is no doubt that Petrovic has done a better job between the sticks than Sanchez this season.
Their save percentages are very similar, with Sanchez slightly edging Petrovic.
| Player | Save percentage |
| Djordje Petrovic | 74.1% |
| Robert Sanchez | 76.3% |
However, Petrovic is yet to make a single mistake that has led to a chance or goal. Sanchez, in contrast, has made two errors leading to a chance and five errors leading to a goal. That last one is a shocking statistic.
As well as Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga has also performed better than Sanchez in the current campaign, but it does not look like either will be taking his spot in Enzo Maresca‘s squad next season.
