Chelsea transfer rumours are linking them to a player in Juventus star Paulo Dybala that’s previously earned very big praise from Maurizio Sarri.

90min reports, as relayed by The Chelsea Chronicle, that Chelsea are one of several clubs offered the chance to sign Dybala in the summer.

It is understood the Blues have been given opportunity to discuss terms with the 28-year-old, who’s failed to agree a new deal with Italian giants Juventus. The report says Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have the same opportunity to hold talks, too.

Dybala now reportedly plans to leave Turin when his Juventus contract expires at the end of this season, and that’s why his representatives have contacted some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

With the door now open on the attacker’s future, it looks like Chelsea have a real chance to sign him if they want him.

The left-footed attacker is a supreme talent with 111 goals in 277 appearances. He’s yet to test himself in English football, though.

Former Chelsea boss a big fan

Ex-Chelsea manager Sarri, who is currently in charge of Lazio, spent a year working with Dybala when he was Juventus boss.

It’s interesting to hear that he’s a huge admirer of the South American forward:

“Dybala is world-class, in a very positive period of form, so right now he is making the difference,” Sarri said in November 2019.

Sarri’s Chelsea team played some expansive and attacking football during his one-year stint as manager at Stamford Bridge. Incidentally, they won 40 out of 63 games and won the Europa League before he decided to leave.

Dybala has been performing at the highest level for a number of years, which includes scoring 18 goal in 52 Champions League appearances.

The Argentina international is extremely effective playing just behind a central figure, so it’d be hard fitting him into a Thomas Tuchel XI based on the systems he’s used this season.
