Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino would love for Conor Gallagher to remain at Stamford Bridge.

However, according to journalist Bobby Vincent, Chelsea will not be on the same page as Mauricio Pochettino if an acceptable offer for Conor Gallagher arrives before the transfer window closes.

In a football.london Q&A session, Vincent said: “Mauricio Pochettino made it clear he doesn’t want to sell Gallagher, but if the club get an offer in the £45million region they may find it difficult to turn down given he has less than two years remaining on his contract.

“Pochettino himself would love him to stay beyond tonight but the club would view things different if the right offer comes in considering how much they’ve spent on incomings this summer.”

It is not a shock to hear that Pochettino wants to keep hold of Gallagher. The 23-year-old midfielder has been a regular under the Argentine, though it is early days. He has played in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures this season.

Mauricio Pochettino should be able to survive without Conor Gallagher

Chelsea have brought in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia during this transfer window for big money, and that is probably why the club are open to selling Gallagher.

The Blues have already sold the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, and for huge fees, but it looks like they still need to make a bit more cash after their shopping spree.

But because Chelsea did manage to bring in Caicedo and Lavia in the end, they probably can afford to let Gallagher go without hurting their squad too much, even if that is not the outcome Pochettino wants.
