Crystal Palace may be interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea by the time the January transfer window rolls around, suggests one journalist.
According to The Sun’s Tom Barclay, Palace could look towards the 22-year-old Blues midfielder if he struggles for minutes under Graham Potter, who’s the new head coach at Stamford Bridge.
He’s “pretty certain” that Palace would be in the mix for Gallagher’s signature in the New Year.
Chelsea’s academy graduate enjoyed a brilliant season-long loan with Premier League rivals Palace last year, so it will be no surprise to see them hunt his signature again. Patrick Vieira’s side even reportedly made a £27million bid for Gallagher in the summer, too.

When discussing Gallagher to GIVEMESPORT, Barclay said: “I wouldn’t be surprised that come January, we’re not even talking about this as a possible transfer because he’s become a big part of Graham Potter’s plans.
“But obviously, if that doesn’t prove to be the case and he is out of the picture, then a player of that quality, particularly being an England international, if he became available, then you’d be pretty certain that Palace would be interested.”
For now, Gallagher should put his full focus into trying get into Potter’s best Chelsea line-up.
He’s had a difficult start to his senior career at Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel promoted him to the first team at Stamford Bridge this season.
However, the change of management has given him a second chance so early into the campaign.
He’s lost his spot in the England squad, presumably down to bad form and less minutes, but there is time still before the winter World Cup.
There’s a lot of characteristics that you’d think make him a Potter-type player, so it’ll be down to him to carve out the future he wants at Chelsea.
