Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell has responded to Mason Mount’s inclusion in England’s World Cup squad.
Chilwell congratulated his colleague and chum on Instagram after it was confirmed yesterday Gareth Southgate had added him to the squad.
The defender’s dream of participating in the global event was doused after he suffered a hamstring injury against Dinamo Zagreb.
Mount joins fellow Stamford Bridge stars Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher on the plane to Qatar.

Mount’s maiden World Cup
It will be a first World Cup for the two Cobham academy graduates, whilst Sterling will be taking part in his third.
Gallagher’s call-up took some by surprise, but Southgate has clearly been impressed by the midfielder’s upwards trajectory in the past 12 months or so.
His loan spell at Crystal Palace last season propelled him into the international spot light, with the attention heighted after returning to Chelsea for the current campaign.
Meanwhile, both Sterling and Mount were almost guaranteed a spot in the Three Lions camp, having been a favourite of the international manager for some time.
For the pair, it is a chance to avenge the European Championship heartache they suffered at Wembley the previous summer.

Thankfully for England, they’ll be no Italian side to thwart them once again.
Instead, they’ll have to navigate past the United States – spearheaded by Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic – Iran and Wales in the group stages.
