Graham Potter is facing a tough decision over who to give penalty duties to at Chelsea after Jorginho left the club.

The Italy international had enjoyed pretty much exclusive access to spot kicks when he was on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.

He missed four in his time at Chelsea, however was much more successful than not as he scored 26.

Now, the Blues have a decision to make regarding the situation’s future.

Joao Felix made the move on loan in January, and he has an impressive record for both club and country. In fact, his only miss ever came in a game where he also scored from the spot in La Liga.

Club record addition Enzo Fernandez has converted from 12 yards before, although was not called upon in the recent World Cup final to step up in the penalty shootout.

Havertz should take penalties

Of the squad that were present before the recently finished January transfer window, Kai Havertz stands out as a prime contender.

The German dealt with the pressure of the FIFA Club World Cup final when he scored his only penalty to date for the club, however he does boast a perfect record of 18/18 over his career.

Another contender would be Raheem Sterling, however he can’t provide the same consistency that Havertz does.

The England international has taken for England and Manchester City however only has a 50% success rate to show for his efforts.

The club’s best bet would be handing the responsibility to Havertz, who has shown in a high-pressure moment for the club already that he can convert.

Jorginho’s consistency will take some matching though, however a more orthodox run-up may be good for the health of the Stamford Bridge faithful.
