Chelsea predicted XI vs Manchester City… Mauricio Pochettino makes two changes and recalls £35m player

Chelsea host Manchester City this weekend in their final game before November’s international break.

Chelsea will take confidence from beating Tottenham 4-1 earlier this week in the Premier League, but the three points may be harder to come by against table toppers Man City.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino has an interesting team selection to make for Sunday afternoon’s league showdown.

The Chelsea Chronicle is predicting that there will be two changes against Man City from the win over Spurs.

GK and defence

We think that the two changes will come at the back, but Robert Sanchez should continue in his role as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Chelsea captain Reece James got some more minutes in his legs on Monday, which is why we’re confident he’ll get another start to continue his return from injury.

Thiago Silva is an ever-present in the heart of defence. We think he may get a different centre-back partner versus Man City, though.

Our first predicted switch is for Benoit Badiashile to replace Axel Disasi at centre-half. There may just be a reshuffle to keep it fresh, with £35million star Badiashile (Sky Sports) recalled for his first league appearance of the campaign.

Finally, 20-year-old defender Levi Colwill could be dropped after a tough time against Spurs. He’s replaced by Marc Cucurella at left-back in this predicted side.

Midfield

We can’t get away from predicting the same midfield trio that Pochettino favours right now.

That mean Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo behind a roaming Conor Gallagher.

Some have been concerned that Fernandez came off with a suspected injury this week, but he recently shared via his Instagram story that he does feel good ahead of Man City.

Attack

We’ve guessed it’ll be two former Man City stars lining up against them in the wide positions. That means Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling keeping their spots in attack.

The final spot will surely be Nicolas Jackson at striker. He’s got to take the momentum of scoring a hat-trick in his previous game.

Predicted Chelsea line-up
