Report: Chelsea player's agent already wants to meet with Todd Boehly to discuss his client's future

Romelu Lukaku’s representatives reportedly want to meet with Todd Boehly to mull over the player’s future.

According to the Evening Standard, those looking after the Chelsea striker are keen to sit down with the new owner and talk about his plans for the club.

Todd has a lot of talking to do

Boehly already has plenty on his plate as the takeover completion finally enters its final stage.

Apart from improving Stamford Bridge, helping the academy and women’s team, his main focus lies in improving Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

His inauguration at the top of the pile has come just about in time.

The summer transfer window opens very soon, with Chelsea usually heavy operators in the market.

They must be more vigilant than ever before, considering they are already behind some of their rivals in terms of making deals.

Plus, Tuchel’s squad seriously requires revamping, with players either out of the exit door or heading that way.

There’s also the issue of those stuck somewhere in between, unsure whether they’ll be sold or kept on board by Boehly.

One man who this very much relates to is the club-record signing.

Lukaku’s representatives understandably want to meet Boehly

After a relatively poor return to Chelsea, Lukaku has come to a cross-road in his career.

At 29-years of age, the centre-forward probably doesn’t have many big moves left in the tanker.

Re-joining the Blues was seen by many as his final significant step, to complete a story he started over a decade ago.

But 15 goals in 44 games is hardly the mark of a concluded journey.

Especially as the Premier League trophy failed to hurtle back to the Bridge, the piece of silverware Lukaku was meant to bring home.

All in all, it’s not worked out for the Belgian since leaving Inter Milan last August, a situation that could get worse if Boehly decides to search for a better fit.

Hence why the number nine’s agents want a word with the new boss, to find out what he has in store for the squad and, more specifically, his client.
