Chelsea’s discussions with Mauricio Pochettino about becoming their next permanent manager seem to be heading in the right direction, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino, 51, has been strongly linked in the last few days with taking the job at Stamford Bridge next season.

Now, there’s two words being used to describe talks between the Blues and the Argentine coach.

The Daily Mail says the Chelsea conversations have been ‘incredibly positive’ with Pochettino.

The report adds that there were further meetings with him on Tuesday regarding his potential appointment.

He is now expected to secure a return to the Premier League at Chelsea, which could sting for some Tottenham fans watching their former boss take charge on the blue side of London.

Let’s hope Chelsea announce the club’s next permanent manager soon to give everybody a lift and a sense of direction heading into next season.

It feels like the Blues have very little to play for in the final seven games of this 2022/23 campaign, so caretaker boss Frank Lampard may have a tough job on his hands motivating the group. However, the players may feel very different if they know Pochettino is closely watching their every step.

The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea appointing Pochettino won’t impact Lampard’s role of managing the side until the end of the season.

We certainly don’t want the next manager walking in before the summer. A big reason is because the team still have to play the Premier League’s current top four sides, which could be a very poor way to start a new era.

It sounds like Pochettino is impressing the Chelsea hierarchy during these meetings, so let’s get this wrapped up sharpish now!

There’s been a mixed reaction within the fanbase to the Pochettino rumours, especially after links to the likes of Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.

It sounds like it’s time to get behind ‘Poch’, though.
